POSITION TYPE PERMANENT, FULL-TIME
The Forks Hospitality Manager oversees all employees at The Common and is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of the bar, with a strong focus on visitor experience and hospitality. Reporting directly to the People, Culture, and Hospitality Director, The Forks Hospitality Manager provides support and recommendations to all departments in any areas related to The Common.
This role is part of an actively evolving organization. As hospitality and events continue to grow, the responsibilities and scope of this position may evolve. The Forks Hospitality Manager Will
- Provide recommendations to The Forks management team regarding operations of The Common
- Provide resources and support to internal teams, specifically Events and External Relations
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with all external contacts, including suppliers, consultants, community groups, and visitors
- Provide leadership to The Common employees through clear expectations, accountability, coaching, trust, and support
- Oversee The Common’s day-to-day operations, including routines, checklists, equipment, scheduling, payroll, weekly sales reports, and processing invoices
- Oversee weekly inventory counts, ensuring accuracy of reporting and diligent inventory management
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with Sommelier, Cicerone, and beer and wine suppliers
- Support with budgeting and business planning for The Common
- Stay up to date on hospitality trends and offer recommendations to improve operational efficiency and enhance the visitor experience at The Forks
The Forks Hospitality Manager Is Someone Who
- Will be required to have their Smart Choices certification
- Has a minimum of two years of leadership experience, with demonstrated success in developing people Leadership in hospitality is considered an asset
- Is highly adaptable and able to lead through change and “gray areas” in an environment that is actively evolving
- Is positive, approachable, friendly, and open-minded toward new ways of doing things
- Has a strong customer service focus, cultivating a team that is welcoming, friendly, and helpful
- Can work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Has strong attention to detail and exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn new software
- Has the ability to see how The Common contributes to the broader vision, goals, and values of The Forks
- Beer and wine knowledge is considered an asset
