Job Type: Seasonal / Summer Contract

  • 2 counsellors

Wage: Supervisor $21-$23 per hour, Counsellor $20-21 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Camp hours are 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

About the Role

Are you passionate about education, technology, and staying active? We are looking for energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Site Supervisor and Counsellors to join our team for the Summer 2026 Nike Academic Camp at Happy Planet!

Our camp offers a unique blend of hands-on STEAM projects (including AI tools and 3D printing), active sports, and indoor/outdoor play. As a counselor, you will lead guided activities, foster a highly inclusive environment, and help kids develop creativity, confidence, and teamwork skills.

Sports Camps Canada (SCC) was founded in 2015 and is the official operator of Nike Sports Camps in Canada. SCC partners with the country's best coaches to direct our camps and provides them with valuable administrative and marketing support. We continue to grow thanks to an outstanding community of Camp Directors and the dedication of the entire Sports Camps Canada staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire: Facilitate daily STEAM activities, sports drills, and team-building exercises for campers.
  • Tech & Play: Guide campers through innovative projects using AI and 3D printing, and actively participate in physical activities at our indoor playground and outdoor park (baseball diamond, climbing structure).
  • Supervise & Protect: Ensure the absolute safety and well-being of all campers at all times, maintaining a high level of supervision.
  • Foster Connection: Encourage meaningful friendships, teamwork, and good sportsmanship among campers.
  • Camp Operations: Assist with morning drop-offs, afternoon pick-ups, lunch supervision, and daily setup/cleanup of equipment and tech tools.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferred education in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, classroom, coaching, or recreational setting.
  • An interest or background in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and/or sports and physical education.
  • High energy, excellent communication skills, and a positive, team-player attitude.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
  • Bonus: Familiarity with basic 3D printing, AI tools, or coding concepts is a major plus!

Required Dates

Candidates must be available for the following camp sessions:

  • Pre Camp training: July 13- 17
  • Session 1: July 20 – 24
  • Session 2: July 27 – 31
  • Session 3: August 10 – 14
  • Session 4: August 17 – 21
