Team, Leader Custodial

Irving Business Services

The Team Leader, Custodial is responsible for overseeing the custodial operations of a number of J.D. Irving, Limited properties in Saint John, NB, including our head office. This role will ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment and requires leadership skills to manage a team of custodial staff and contractors effectively and to maintain high quality of work.

  • Oversee a team of 17 individuals at the head office building
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of custodial staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Plan and prioritize daily custodial tasks such as cleaning offices, common areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness and address any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate replenishment as needed.
  • Respond to feedback and address concerns from building occupants regarding custodial services.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies related to custodial operations.
  • Education Required: High School Diploma or Trade Certification
  • 5+ years of experience, with 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work evenings, shift is 3:00pm to 11:00pm Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
