We are looking for a highly organized and dedicated Confidential Assistant, Human Resources to join our Office of the VP, Human Resources team! This role requires exceptional judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage complex and confidential matters with precision.

Job Overview
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources (VP, HR), the Confidential Assistant performs complex, confidential, and executive level administrative support to the VP, HR, Associate VP, HR, and the broader HR leadership team.
You will play a central role in contributing to the design and implementation of related work processes, maintaining the integrity of HR systems, preparing a variety of documents, and guiding employees through our HR services, forms, policies, and procedures.
In this position, you will perform a wide variety of administrative support services (ranging from complex to routine) that contribute to the efficient and professional operation of the HR team at KPU. Using a genuine appreciation and a strong understanding of protocol, discretion, confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism, you will interpret and make decisions in accordance with prescribed University procedures and practices.
The Confidential Assistant will interact regularly with senior administrators and other members of the KPU community, often handling matters of a confidential and highly sensitive nature. To succeed in this role, you will need strong time management skills, diplomacy, discretion, and initiative.
Education and Experience
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary diploma (two years) in a field such as human resource management or office administration;
- Three (3) years of recent relevant experience, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility;
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Professional and personal attributes that provide a positive impression of the senior leadership team and human resources.
- Display a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity and strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web content management systems, such as Drupal, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adapt to changes in organizational priorities
- Excellent project management, organizational skills and the ability to manage own workload as well as assist others in meeting deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting and communicating with others at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, staff and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to travel between campuses is required.

Salary Information
The above compensation range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. Typically, initial salary placement is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum. This represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and approximately halfway of the salary range for a job with consideration given to internal equity.
