About The Opportunity

A well-established, Ottawa-based organization is seeking a SharePoint Administrator & Developer to join a collaborative, technology-driven team. Reporting to the Manager of Applications Services, the successful candidate will participate in the development of Information Management (IM) and Information Governance (IG) technology standards while evaluating new capabilities. You will manage the maintenance, support, and architecture of enterprise solution environments, providing technical configuration and custom development to meet evolving business needs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Solution Architecture & Development: Develop and maintain solution architecture for SharePoint and other standardized applications; design custom applications within SharePoint as directed by leadership
  • Systems Administration: Provide technical configuration and systems administration services, including provisioning sites, developing new site templates, creating document libraries, and establishing access permissions
  • Maintenance & Support: Manage the ongoing maintenance and support of IM solution environments, proactively identifying system gaps and proposing effective solutions
  • Vendor & IT Collaboration: Interface with internal IT systems teams to align solutions with business needs, coordinate with product vendors/service providers to resolve technical issues, and act as the primary point of contact for ticket escalation
  • Standards & Governance: Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and the development of IG/IM technology standards, providing system metrics as required for performance management

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience developing and configuring SharePoint including extensive customization and integration work
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background across the Microsoft technology stack (including .NET framework, C#, SQL Server, Active Directory, etc.) and web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Education & Certifications: A degree or diploma in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline (or an acceptable combination of education and experience). A SharePoint certification, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), or Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA) for SharePoint is a strong asset
  • Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas in a user-friendly, non-technical language to diverse stakeholders

About the Job

Salary is commensurate of experience ($85,000 to $100,000) and is in addition to a government pension/benefits plan, four weeks of vacation, annual bonus, and an annual wellness allowance.
