Role Overview
The Manager, Donor Relations leads the strategy, development, and execution of donor recognition across all Providence sites, ensuring a consistent, meaningful, and engaging experience for donors. The Manager also oversees recognition entitlements for signature events and serves as the lead for Lights of Hope recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of donor recognition strategies across all Providence sites, including oversight of plaque programs, campaign and annual donor walls, and all bespoke and campaign-specific recognition initiatives from design through execution.
- Liaise with site leaders, vendors, construction teams, and Providence leadership to support the planning and delivery of donor recognition initiatives
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the Lights of Hope display, ensuring clear timelines, accurate donor recognition, and effective coordination with volunteers, vendors, and partners.
- Oversee donor recognition tracking within the database to ensure accuracy and consistency, including assigning entitlements to the Donor Relations team.
- Manages recognition entitlements and tracking for major gift donors, including print, media, and social communications, ensuring alignment with donor intent and Foundation standards
- Oversee corporate sponsorship and gift in kind recognition entitlement fulfillment (i.e. Feast of Fortune and Lights of Hope)
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Foundation’s donor recognition policies and guidelines to ensure equitable, consistent, and best-practice recognition aligned with industry standards and local context
- Supports with the naming recognition process, including submissions to government for naming opportunities.
- Directly manages staff, providing leadership, supervision, and oversight of day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and perform other related duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, English, Journalism, or a related field required.
- A minimum of 6 years progressive donor relations experience or fundraising experience either in a hospital or healthcare foundation, or academic development office, required.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to donor relations or stewardship programs, including strategy development and execution.
- Strong understanding of donor-centric fundraising principles, stewardship practices, and fund management processes.
- Experience working with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
