Job description and duties
Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a full-time continuing Food Services Attendant position commencing as soon as possible. Some evening and weekend work may be required as well as some offsite work. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff, Level 04: $1,953.70 biweekly or $27.91 hourly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties: Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, this position will provide responsive, friendly service ensuring customers are satisfied with their experience in the cafe/ cafeteria.
Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Interacting with customers in a manner that provides a positive customer experience, addressing minor customer complaints as they arise
- Prepare menu items in accordance with customer orders including the use of espresso machine and blenders
- Operate cash register, visa/debit machine and deposit cash
- Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers (i.e.: cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order)
- Follow all established food safety and sanitation procedures
- Other duties of similar scope and complexity as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills: Grade 12 education (or equivalent) is required. Food Safe and Serving-it-Right certificates are required and willing to learn. Preference will also be given to candidates with recent experience in food services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required skills and abilities include:
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to resolve customer service issues with tact and diplomacy to create a positive customer experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to lift and carry bulky/heavy items weighing up to 40 lbs
