Salary: $36.00 CAD - $40.00 CAD per hour depending on experience, annual performance

bonus and discretionary bonus

Benefits: 10 days of paid vacation per year in accordance with provincial employment

Duties and responsibilities

The Automotive Technician Assistant (Under Supervision of Licensed Technician) will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist licensed automotive technicians with inspection, maintenance, and repair support for Hyundai vehicles in a high-volume dealership environment
• Support Hyundai manufacturer-recommended maintenance services
• Prepare Hyundai vehicles for diagnostics, servicing, warranty-related inspections, and repair work using dealership-approved tools and equipment
• Assist with removal and replacement of automotive components under the supervision of licensed technicians following Hyundai service standards and repair procedures
• Support dealership technicians in identifying and reporting basic mechanical and electrical issues affecting Hyundai vehicle systems and performance
• Assist with servicing automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, steering components, tires, and basic electrical systems under supervision
• Maintain service bays, tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair areas in accordance with dealership safety and operational standards
• Assist with documenting repair orders, completed maintenance services, and dealership service records using internal dealership management systems
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, Hyundai manufacturer guidelines, dealership protocols, and customer service standards within a fast-paced automotive service environment

This position is performed under the supervision of licensed automotive technicians. The role does not require the employee to independently perform regulated trade activities or hold Ontario trade certification.

This is a supervised support role performed under the direction of licensed automotive technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum 2+ years of experience working in an automotive dealership or automotive service

environment

• Experience supporting maintenance and repair work involving Hyundai vehicles or similar manufacturer-

specific automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, steering, tires, and basic electrical components

• Previous experience working in a Hyundai dealership environment or comparable manufacturer

dealership service operation is considered a strong asset

• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic preparation, dealership repair procedures, and manufacturer-

recommended maintenance practices

• Knowledge of automotive systems, including engine components, fuel systems, and basic

electrical/electronic systems

• Experience working with dealership tools, repair equipment, and internal dealership service environments

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced dealership setting

• Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of licensed automotive technicians

• Valid driver’s license required

• Criminal record check and driver’s abstract may be required
