What We Expect

  • Oversee all aspects of employee lifecycle, including hiring, training, performance management, learning & development and departures
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and development plans for direct reports
  • Develop a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Inspire followership
  • Manage remote regions of northern Alberta and NWT, based on operational needs
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture by conducting regular audits, enforcing strict compliance with regulations and the company’s internal safety program, conducting regular training, and holding teams accountable to the highest safety standards to prevent incidents and ensure a secure work environment
  • Lead regular safety meetings (ex. 'Toolbox Talk’s) and training sessions to enhance employee skills, ensure safety protocol adherence, and foster industry best practices
  • Develop and implement plans to manage employee assignments effectively, aligning with contractual obligations, budgetary needs, and compliance requirements
  • Direct field labor forces and support personnel (internal and external) to meet or exceed customer expectations in scheduling and repair delivery
  • Manage departmental budgets, costs and profitability with effective & efficient allocation of resources
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Strive to exceed expectations through proactive communication and collaboration
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving issues efficiently to maintain satisfaction
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the company's vision and goals, actively contributing to its growth and success
  • Quality Assurance and Resource Management: Monitor work processes, provide technical guidance, and ensure the availability and efficient use of materials, tools, and equipment. Ensure quality standards are met through clear, consistent oversight and support
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, provincial and local elevator industry code requirements
  • Prepare reports, as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in operational or field management, preferably within the elevator industry or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, including the ability to lead, inspire, develop trust, and gain commitment from a diverse team. Ability to develop & grow team capabilities to deliver excellent service
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging with employees, customers, and stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and cost control. Familiarity with sales processes related to service and repair, new construction, and modernization projects
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications, with strong mechanical and electrical comprehension skills
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, with the ability to address issues promptly and maintain a positive work environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems with ability to adapt to new processes & systems
  • Knowledge of elevator codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices, including CSA B44 and Alberta Safety Codes Act requirements (Alberta AHJ / Safety Codes Council)
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and managing to a collective agreement
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Edmonton Area and surrounding areas, and to remote locations within northern Alberta and the NWT based on operational needs
